Influence Nadal's Wimbledon Win

Nadal is not number one in the world, but it may soon be. Was more consistent this season and two grand slams to his credit has certainly end the season on top of the ladder. This would be tangible confirmation of their superiority and just reward for a player who spent most consecutive weeks at number two in the rankings.

However, some say that Nadal is the top of the tree. His convincing victory over Federer in French Open final was onething, but the Swiss defeated the legend of his favorite surface is another. Federer has won Wimbledon the previous five titles and looked unbeatable at times on the grass. Nadal beat him on his terms and he will return next year as rivals. Federer is four years older, and knows that the younger man has more time to the summit ahead.

The pair have contested six Grand Slam finals already, the most two players in the history of the game. Both benefitWimbledon, which suggests the gap between them and the rest of the field, overcome by Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open, is wide enough, as always on grass. There will be more Wimbeldon finals to come.

Nadal will fight to emulate Federer's dominance of sports, which saw him lift 12 Grand Slam trophies in three of the four main points. Nadal now has five to his name, but I suspect its the dual character largely depends on how long his government undefeated at Roland Garroscontinues. He has improved his game immeasurably from the earth, the development of difficult to serve, to prosper at Wimbledon and set its basic keys for all surfaces, but you still beat Federer on a hard court Grand Slams.

Five U.S. Open appearances saw Nadal go beyond the quarterfinals. Federer in the semifinals to beat the world number three Djokovic in Melbourne was a great surprise tournament, not Nadal's defeat in the same stage of Jo-Wilfred Tsonga,Top thirty players. Nadal played the best tennis of his life, but it needs to maintain the same level for four years as Federer has done to become the best all-around player.

Federer may be slightly past his best, but not around its sales by date. He is perhaps the most talented tennis player of all time and has the capacity to compensate for the reduction of fine physical abilities. Now is the time to return him to win the U.S. Open, Nadal is betting flavor of the month. DoRoger dismissed the chances of breaking Pete Sampras' seven Wimbledon away, either!
