I knew before I bought this that I was buying a large watch. Having read the reviews for the equivalent men's watch, I had an idea that this watch was large.

So if you're a woman who likes men's watches, this is a great watch for you. It's about that size. The weight took a little getting used to -- it's heavy -- but I love the watch now that I'm used to it.

The display is large and easy to read -- even the date is readable for over-40 eyes. There is a second hand. The hands glow in the dark. The clasp is very sturdy (I was replacing a faithful Seiko whose clasp finally bit the dust).

The band is very large -- larger than any of the males in my family -- so unless your wrist is far larger than the norm, you'll be having links professionally removed. My jeweler had a really tough time with these links on one side; he said they were very tight. He did say the workmanship was good and the movement is a quality one. Also, the stem has to be unwound like a screw before adjustments can be made to date and time. My jeweler had to unscrew it for the first time too; it was seriously torqued down when I received it.

This is my daily wear watch, so I've been wearing it every day for over a month now. It's sustained one small scratch to the left of the crystal but has otherwise worn well. My favorite thing about it is the black mother-of-pearl face. The play of colors off it is beautiful!
